a soft 1930s blouse in blush pink rayon crepe, cut with dolman sleeves that taper into gathered, elastic-cinched cuffs. the boat neckline and cuffs are trimmed in a wide venise-style lace scattered with hand-set rhinestones, and the back closes with seven tiny fabric-covered buttons down a curved, dipped hem. rayon crepe was the era's "artificial silk," prized for its fluid drape at a fraction of the cost, and dolman sleeves were one of the decade's signature silhouettes, cut in one continuous piece with the bodice for a soft, draped line through the shoulder. the rhinestone lace trim would have read as evening glamour on a piece this wearable for daytime.
