a 1950s glentex pure silk scarf, made in japan: a bare brown branch sweeps across a cream field, dropping red, crimson, and yellow maple leaves in a clean graphic pattern. the chocolate brown border grounds it. the colors are vivid and the original retail tag is still attached. glentex was one of the major american scarf importers of the postwar decades, producing pure silk scarves in japan for the department store market throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
