the look

a charming vintage cotton dress in a small rose-and-trellis floral on black, built with a fitted bodice, a wide scalloped white eyelet collar, short puffed sleeves trimmed in lace, and a full tiered skirt that gathers into real swing. a metal zipper closes the side seam. the busy, cheerful calico print and the broad eyelet collar are pure 1940s, when feedsack and novelty florals turned everyday cotton into something sweet, and a metal side zipper like this one is a reliable tell of the decade. the crisp white collar frames the neckline and lifts the whole dark floral.

please note: the white eyelet collar shows light age (and one small spot in picture). the metal side zipper is original.
