the look
this re-made tee uses a vintage 70s faux-patchwork cotton, the kind printed to mimic true scrap quilting, including strips of calico florals, tossed ditsy blooms, tiny geometrics, and novelty stitching motifs all layered together in bright reds, blues, and whites. faux-patchwork textiles exploded in the late 60s and 70s as mass-market brands tried to bottle the look of handmade americana without the labor of real piecing.
we reshaped the textile into a multi-paneled appliqué on a softly faded black tee, framing the print with red top-stitched edging to amplify the energy of the pattern.
