the look

bold 1970s italian novelty print shirt by peneri, labeled creazioni gear made in italy. the striking checkerboard repeat features stylized breaking waves and rope motifs in sky blue, white, and rust brown, a strong example of european resort and surf influenced casualwear from the decade. constructed in lightweight woven cotton with the selvedge edge intentionally used to finish the interior placket, a subtle but quality mid century manufacturing detail.
