a crisp white cotton bandana printed in dense black paisley by paris accessories, made in the usa. the composition inverts the usual bandana logic: instead of a heavy ground with a light print, this one leaves the white cloth open and lets a wide, intricate black border do all the work, with scrolling boteh, small florettes, and a fine scalloped edge, while the center field holds only a sparse scatter of tiny paisley sprigs and dotted rosettes around a single medallion. the corner mark reads all cotton, rn 13960, made in u.s.a., alongside the boxed paris logo and a star roundel reading crafted with pride in u.s.a. that last mark is the most precise dating tool on the piece. the crafted with pride in u.s.a. council was formed in 1984 to promote american-made textiles against imports, so its logo cannot appear on anything made before that year. one edge is a true selvage, the finished woven edge of the cloth, and the other three are hemmed.
