vintage | gianni versace
the look
a striking early 1990s gianni versace top in printed silk, made in italy. the black and white design layers dotted spheres, halftone gradients, zigzag banding, and concentric circle medallions into a bold, almost op art graphic. it has long sleeves, a boxy body, and a covered zip closure at the back neck. gianni versace founded his namesake house in milan in 1978 and built its early reputation on exactly this kind of confident, high contrast print work, where the pattern carries the whole garment. the graphic monochrome prints of his late 1980s and early 1990s collections are among the most recognizable of the era, and this piece sits squarely in that vocabulary.
please note: light yellowing at the underarms from age. the silk is otherwise clean and sound.
