about me

a pair of spare felting needles for repairs and small projects. needle felting is one of the easiest ways to mend holes and thin spots in wool sweaters, and it's one of the darning techniques in mending life. lay a bit of wool roving over the hole and keep jabbing until the fibers lock into the knit. these are good to keep on hand since the needles are thin and do snap.

size 36 is the everyday, all-purpose gauge. it works fibers in at a good pace for patching, shaping, and filling in. for very fine detail, a finer 38 or 40 needle is the usual next step.
