an antique 1910s wrapper robe in sheer, lightweight cotton voile, hand embroidered with a scattered vine of roses in cream and pale yellow-green floss. the wide kimono cut sleeves and open tie front reflect the japonisme influence that shaped edwardian loungewear, when pattern companies like butterick offered kimono and dressing sacque patterns built on exactly this silhouette for wear at home or while traveling.

hand finished seams throughout, no machine overlocking anywhere on the garment, consistent with its early construction. the fine voile has softened and gone slightly sheer with age, which only adds to its dreamy, worn-in character.

please note: a small woven mending patch on the interior and a couple of tiny age-related pulls near the embroidery. sound and wearable, no major tears.
