a charming 1950s saybury quilted tartan plaid bed jacket in a rich red and green plaid, diamond-quilted throughout with a banded collar finished in a self-fabric tie bow. saybury was founded in 1926 by elias sayour, a first-generation syrian immigrant, and the label built its name on loungewear specifically, robes, dusters, bed jackets, and housecoats made to be lived in. five genuine mother-of-pearl shank buttons run down the front, and two flap-topped patch pockets sit at the hip, both a step up from the plastic buttons and single pocket most houses of this type used. the diamond quilting is even and full-bodied throughout, holding its loft well for a piece pushing seventy years old.

please note: cut generously long, this one falls to about knee length rather than the cropped, shoulders-only silhouette "bed jacket" usually implies, so it wears more like a duster or housecoat over sleepwear.
