The fluid swing silhouette and soft collar give this piece an architectural, couture-adjacent presence, while the interior construction reveals a level of craftsmanship rarely seen in unbranded vintage. 

This coat is crafted from karakulcha broadtail, a highly prized lamb fur known for its tight, shallow curl and naturally sculptural surface. Unlike fuller Persian lamb, broadtail has a matte, refined texture that holds shape while remaining lightweight, making it especially favored in the 50s and 60s for clean, architectural silhouettes like this swing coat. Karakulcha broadtail has long been prized for its rarity, technical difficulty, and visual restraint. Because the pelts are thinner and more delicate than standard lamb, they require exceptional skill to cut, match, and assemble. The resulting surface reads refined rather than plush, offering depth and texture without heaviness.

The pelts are wool-backed, a traditional midcentury technique used to reinforce delicate skins while adding structure, insulation, and longevity. The coat is finished with a heavyweight silk satin lining, with hand-sewn finishing visible along the lining and hem. Condition: very good vintage condition with no visible flaws. Fur retains even texture and density, and the silk lining is clean and intact. minor wear and pulls in interior, some minor fuzzing on exterior, consistent with age.
