the look
a bold red bandana in a graphic non-paisley print, made all cotton, with a wide border of four-leaf palmette medallions in cream and black and an open center scattered with small trefoil sprigs. the tile-like border and stripped-down center make it read more like a printed kerchief than the usual all-over paisley. the corner mark reads washfast colors, all cotton, rn 14193, with no country-of-origin line. washfast is one of the phrasings american mills used to advertise stable dye, alongside fast color and colorfast, and all cotton is the older convention that predates the 100% cotton wording that became standard after the early 1960s. together with the missing country mark and the rn number, that points to the 1960s. one edge is a true selvage with the other three hemmed.
please note: deep, even red with a crisp graphic print and light softening from washing.
all bandanas are gently cleaned and pressed. beyond that we let them be, so any fading, softening, or small marks of use stay exactly as they came to us.
