about me

red thread on cream cotton is one of the oldest combinations in needlework. you see it in scandinavian textiles and in the pennsylvania dutch pieces we come across around here. this folk heart is filled with flowers and leaves, all in red. it's a beginner kit with everything you need, and the difficulty is up to you. stitch the whole thing in backstitch, or turn it into a sampler with chain stitch and french knots. hang it as a standalone piece for the holidays or all year, update a wool coat or sweater, or cover a stain on a favorite linen.
