modern | hook line & tinker
about me
we love a kitchen motif. we find them all the time on 1940s aprons and feedsack tea towels, usually a little faded and well loved. this jar of dills keeps that spirit, done in cobalt and grass green. it's a beginner kit with everything you need inside, and the pickle bumps are a nice spot to practice french knots. keep it in the hoop as a standalone piece, stitch it onto a thrifted chore coat, or use it to cover a stain on your favorite apron.
in the kit:
- pre-printed design on unbleached cotton
- 6" wooden embroidery hoop
- 5 full skeins of embroidery floss
- bohin size 3 embroidery needle
- instructions (english and french)
everything at vangie is about giving clothes a longer life, and mending is a big part of that. a needle and some floss can turn a moth hole or a stain into the best part of a piece. these kits are designed by canadian embroidery artist laurie dolhan of hook, line & tinker, and each one is packed by hand in her small-batch studio with minimal plastic. finish yours in the hoop for the wall, or cut it out and sew it onto something you already love.
