about me

Our eleanor everyday tote, designed to make a statement everyday. Inspired by 60s french market totes, this bag has delicate yet sturdy handles and can handle anything you need to carry.

Part of our in-house small-batch line, this bag was made by vangie in our Philadelphia studio using a 50s quilted cotton textile exterior, and vintage green silk interior. This is part of our small-batch production, only 5 have been made.

  • Materials: The stunning quilted cotton has a repeating geometric motif, bold palette, and dense machine embroidery. It strongly aligns with late 50s textile production, when postwar optimism and midcentury modern design pushed color, pattern, and texture to the forefront. This type of pre-quilted embroidered cotton was commonly produced as yardage for skirts, jackets, and accessories, intended for home sewing or small commercial runs.
  • Era: Re-made using vintage materials, textiles estimated late 50s–60s
  • Designer/Brand: vangie
  • Origin: Constructed in Philadelphia, vintage textile origin unknown
  • Design: Structured tote silhouette with soft quilting, repeating geometric embroidery, and fabric-wrapped handles.
  • Construction: Quilted vintage cotton with batting and machine embroidery using rayon thread. Fully lined in vintage acid green silk. Fabric-wrapped handles. Scarf not included.
  • Size & Fit: Tote style carryall. Approximate flat measurements: width 15.5 inches, height 13 inches, handle drop approx 7 inches. Fits daily essentials (or a 13" macbook) with ease.

Each remade piece is made from deadstock vintage fabrics and salvaged vintage textiles. Every item is handmade, and may vary slightly. All measurements are taken flat unless otherwise noted. While we include an estimated modern size for reference, we recommend reviewing the listed measurements for your best fit.
